Why not plan the party of a lifetime to celebrate your lifetime?
Whatever you choose to call it, Wake or Funeral Tea, you may want your family and friends to get together afterwards. It is an opportunity for your family and friends to celebrate your life and remember the good times you shared.
You may want to forget the sandwiches, sausage rolls and drinking of tea, and be a little more individual. Have your favourite food served. How about a Chinese banquet or Indian feast?
Make sure your loved ones raise a glass of your favourite tipple. If you were partial to malt whisky or the odd cocktail or two, make sure they know what you would like them to have.
Or, how about a singsong? If you always were surrounded by music then why not have it afterwards to celebrate your life? You could choose a fiddler, guitarist, soul band or just pop the iPod on.
This may be the last time your family and friends gather for a while so why not make the most of it and celebrate your life?
“For some reason my Mam wanted us all to have Battenburg cake and cherry bakewell tarts! We have no reason why, but it would have been rude not to.”
“When I go I want everyone to drink cocktails, they must be colourful, with umbrellas and cherries and maybe a sparkler or two.”
We can arrange for catering to be delivered to your home, pub, social club or golf club.
Music
Traditionally at a funeral music is played as you go in and out of the Church or Crematorium and hymns are sung during the service. But more and more people are moving away from traditional music and hymns and want their favourite songs played instead.
We can cater for whatever your taste in music happens to be. You may opt for a favourite song or a theme tune from a musical or movie.
How about at live band or solo artist? you could have ‘Elvis’ singing ‘return to sender’, a solo guitarist playing ‘Stairway to heaven’ or a gospel choir.
Whatever you want to ‘go out to’ we can arrange it both at the ceremony and afterwards.
